Sharma was doused in petrol and set on fire at the Friends Colony (West) bungalow of the Nandas on June 9. Sharma succumbed to his burn injuries on June 16.

Sharma had, however, reportedly insisted that he would report for work that day.

"On the morning of June 9, Sharma got a call from Nanda's company office telling him to report for work at night. He, however, insisted that he would come in the morning," said a senior police officer.

Sharma's mobile call details show that he had received the first call at 6.21 a.m. on June 9 and then again at 6.28 a.m. asking him to report for night duty.

"Sharma reached the bungalow between 8-8.15 a.m. and parked his motorcycle in the driveway. He then went inside, got a newspaper and started fiddling with his motorcycle. He was trying to hide something in the paper. One of the guards who was posted there asked him what he was trying to hide, but he ignored it, claiming it was his medicines," said the police officer.

"Our investigations are still on," said a senior police officer.
