The Commonwealth Games Organizing Committee (OC) has shot off a legal notice to an Indian aphrodisiac brand that has been publishing advertisements across the country calling itself the official “Health Power licensee” of the Games. Kerala-based Kunnath Pharmaceuticals’ “Musli Power” has been appearing on newspapers with some bold ads carrying the official CWG logo.

The legal team of the OC sent a “cease and resist” order to the company regarding these ads calling them a trademark infringement Kunnath Pharmaceuticals inked a pact with Premium Brands, the former Merchandising Licensee of the Games, which pulled out of the event a few weeks ago following inordinate delay in the launching of the Games merchandise.
“Our deal to use the logo stands. We are not doing anything illegal. It is a misunderstanding and the OC must be reversing the legal notice by now,” said Vinod Venkatesh, Operations Manager, Kunnath Pharmaceuticals.
