“It looks like the Delhi Police is at war with the Delhi government and that is dangerous for democracy. When there was a strike of transporters here, police was trying to escalate the protest. They are focused on arresting MLAs one by one. If the police itself create problems, there will be chaos and crime rate will increase,” Kejriwal told the media after meeting Modi.

Kejriwal met the PM at around 1230PM and discussed a number of issues related to Delhi, especially, the power tussle between the government and the Lt Governor (L-G). “It is important that the political ideologies of the two governments don’t interfere with work,” the CM added.

Kejriwal, who was accompanied by his deputy Manish Sisodia, sought the PM’s support, irrespective of the differences in ‘political ideologies.'

Stressing on better communication with the Centre, Kejriwal said: “I told the PM, that we will fulfil your dreams of Swacch Bharat, Skill India and Digital India. We will do the work and you will earn fame when you go abroad. We will do all that but we need your cooperation,” he said.

A little over a week ago, in his Independence Day speech, Kejriwal had spoken about ‘synergy’ between the Centre and state government in a bid to end their bitter battle for power.

Kejriwal also raised the row over appointments to the Delhi anti-corruption bureau (ACB). “I told him that the ACB was working absolutely fine until a corrupt officer was sent as ACB chief,” Kejriwal said.

Issues related to land allotment at a concessional rate for development projects and transfer and postings of bureaucrats was also discussed, sources said.
