Eating out in the national capital and neighbouring tourist hotspots may soon be a delight for taste buds and healthy as well with the government planning to rate eateries before the Commonwealth Games.

Project 'Safe Food, Tasty Food', conceived by the Centre will make the eateries join the race to bag Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze ratings which will be accredited by the Quality Council of India after strict scrutiny of different parameters like quality of food, hygiene,service among others.
Civic bodies like NDMC and MCD in the national capital will be active participants in the exercise in which citizen groups, school and college students, trade organisations, RWAs, registered societies and companies, training and consulting organisations, corporates, NGOs and other volunteers will also be roped in.
The entire project has been conceptualised by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India with a view to ensure hygiene and to promote quality food during the Games which will see influx of thousands of foreign tourists.
