Saturday surprise: A hailstorm

Motorists between Delhi and Gurgaon were caught in a dust storm followed by rain and hailstorm on Saturday evening, reports HT Correspondent.

Motorists between Delhi and Gurgaon were caught in a dust storm followed by rain and hailstorm on Saturday evening.

“It began with strong winds and a swirl of dust. Then it began raining and in no time there was a hailstorm,” said Sanjeev Arora, a resident of Gurgaon, Sector 15. “I was on the expressway and traffic slowed down considerably.”

Many parts of Delhi too received rainfall and strong winds brought down the temperature by 8 degrees. Palam weather office recorded 1.8 mm of rainfall till 8.30 pm, while the Safdarjung office recorded 0.7 mm rainfall.
