An ‘unwell’ BJP patriarch LK Advani chose the day of appointment of Narendra Modi as party’s chief campaign manager to talk about Vishwaroopam, the story of a Muslim terrorist turned spy, Bishma Pitamah on his bed of arrows and key World War II players, Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini.

His blog had no mention of BJP’s national executive meet in Goa, which he had skipped, apparently since he was sulking about Modi getting a prominent role in the 2014 elections.

Advani was on Modi’s side in Goa in 2002 when then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee wanted his resignation in the aftermath of the post-Godhra riots.

His Sunday morning blog indicated that Advani was not as ill as depicted by BJP president Rajnath Singh, who had earlier this week said that he had asked the senior leader to rest because of his illness.

The BJP leader filled his blog with historical and mythological events ranging from Krishna administering Geetagayan to Arjuna at Kurukshetra to research on Hitler’s escape to Argentina after his defeat in 1943.

After dinner, Advani recounted a story about Hitler and Mussolini conversation which ended with two “fascist leaders landing in hell” and only “Pope reaching heaven”.

Congress spokesperson Shakeel Ahmed read something unusual on the blog and tweeted: “Advani hints in his blog that you will have to pay for your sins in your lifetime itself. Is he repenting his role to save Modi in 2002?”

Advani also delivered an 11-minute recorded message at a lecture in Jaipur, where he said that he was suffering from stomach upset for three days, the reason for skipping the Goa conclave. In his video conference address, Advani said he was having stomach upset for the last three days.
