The victim was identified as Inderpal Singh, a resident of Laxmi Nagar.

Singh, a senior police officer said, was first verbally abused and then stabbed with a knife, allegedly by another taxi driver named Gulzar Singh.

“Gulzar suddenly began beating Singh without any provocation. And he later stabbed Singh in front of Janpath Lane,” said the officer. Singh was rushed to RML Hospital where his condition was stated to be stable.

A case was later lodged against Gulzar.
