More than 2,000 allottees who have got flats in the 2010 housing scheme of the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) will not receive demand letters for at least a month more.
DDA, which was expected to send demand letters to all the 16,000-odd allottees by August, has now set the deadline to September 30. Many allottees were yet to receive demand letters even after September 15, which was an earlier deadline.
However, for many allottees, the wait wouldn’t get over by the end of this month either. The demand letters for allotments made for Vasant Kunj, Jasola Sector 9A, Dwarka 18B,
Rohini Sector 29, Motia Khan, Kalyan Vihar and Mukherjee Nagar have not been issued yet as the flats are yet to be completed. A DDA spokesperson, however, said that these flats (that number more than 2,000) are at an advance stage of completion.
In some locations such as Motia Khan, the elevators of the multi-storeyed buildings are yet to be made operational that has caused the delay.
The allottees of these flats would receive an intimation letter, instead of a demand letter. The demand-cum-allotment letters for these flats are likely to be issued from November, DDA spokesperson said, adding, “the status of all the flats has been uploaded on the website and all the allottees have been advised to bear with DDA till these flats are completed,” the spokesperson said.
