Woman and her lover held for kidnapping

A 45-year-old divorced woman and her lover, who were allegedly involved in flesh trade, were arrested by the south district police for allegedly kidnapping a six-year-old boy from Batala in Punjab, police said on Thursday.

Police said the two, in order to wade off police net, kidnapped the boy on July 20 from Batala, and came to Adarsh Nagar area in Delhi, where they started living as a family in a rented house. The arrested persons have been identified as Savita alias Geeta and her boyfriend Ajay, who is almost half her age.

Chhaya Sharma, DCP (south), said the two were arrested by a team of the Vasant Vihar police station following information that a boy kidnapped from Punjab was seen with a woman in Adarsh Vihar area. The duo was arrested and boy was rescued by the police.
