JEE Mains Result 2021: Exams to be held two more times

NTA will conduct JEE Main exam four times this year. The Agency has already conducted two cycles of the examination and two more session of examination will be conducted by the Agency soon. The April session exam will be conducted on April 27, 28, 29 and 30, 2021 and May session examination will be conducted on May 24, 25, 26, and 28, 2021.

JEE Main Result 2021: Seat Reservations in IITs Category-wise

The seat reservation in IITs for various category has been stated by the Agency in the official brochure. 15 percent seats is reserved for SC candidates, 7.5 percent seats is reserved for ST candidates, 27 percent seats reserved for other backward classes, non creamy layer candidates and 10 percent seats reserved for General Economically Weaker Sections (General - EWS) candidates.

JEE Main Result 2021: Tie- breaking rule

As per the notice released the Agency, incase two candidates secure the same JEE Main scores, then they will fall under the tie breaking rule. The Tie Breaking rule says that the first preference will be given to that candidate who will score high in mathematics. Second preference to that candidate who will score in physics. In case the tie persists, higher NTA scores in chemistry will get the third preference. Lastly, candidates with a lesser ratio of negative to positive responses will be given the top rank.

JEE Main Result 2021: Expected cut off

The expected cut off for JEE Main Result 2021 for Common Rank List is 90 to 95, GEN-EWS is 70 to 75, OBC is 70 to 75, SC is 50 to 55 and ST is 40 to 55. The final answer keys have been released by the Agency and the result would be announced anytime soon.

What is score normalisation process?

The National Testing Agency (NTA) normalises the score to identify a candidate’s actual merit/rank by creating the same level playing field for every student. The agency calculates the percentile scores up to 7 decimal places. Candidates would be distributed into four sessions randomly so that each session has an approximately equal number of candidates. JEE Main 2021 results for each session will be prepared in the form of Raw Scores and percentiles Scores separately for each of the three subjects (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry) and the total score.
