One of the biggest fests in the city, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi’s Rendezvous will take place in the month of October. However, preparations have already begun for this fest, starting with the launch of their official website. In fact, websites of annual college fests have now become one of the most important aspects in preparation for the festival.

“The theme of the festival is around rock. So, the website has been designed in such a way where we have used the covers of popular rock bands like Nirvana, Iron Maiden, Dire Straits, and Pink Floyd for our various segments,” says a coordinator of Rendezvous 2011.

For the organisers of the fest and students of the college, an attractive website means more attention, apart from the information it gives.

“Websites play the most important role in organising a fest of this capacity. It gives all sorts of information about the fest and also makes the registration process even better. An interactive, attractive and exciting website is what pulls the maximum crowd to the college. We did the website on our own but later gave it to a company to format it,” says Khushboo, one of the organisers of Crossroads 2010-2011, the fest of Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), that took place earlier this year.
