According to media reports, 8.5 lakh students took part in this year's Class 10 or Senior Secondary Leaving Certificate (SSLC exam) in the state, which was conducted between March and April. The scores obtained by the students in their Class 10 will help them in making up their mind on which stream to choose (like Arts, Commerce, Science) for Class 12 studies.

Considering the mad rush to check the results online, officials warned students and their parents to be prepared for the site to be erratic and even be sluggish.

Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board was instituted in 1966 and has been conducting SSLC and other examinations since its inception. Karnataka is counted among states with a high literacy rate in the country.
