Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (KSEEB) has declared the Karnataka SSLC result of class 10th exam today, on April 30. A total of 73.7% students passed the exam.

This year’s pass percentage -school wise:
- Government: 77.84%
- Aided: 77.21%
- Unaided: 82.72

Gender-wise:
- Boys: 68.46% (last year 66.56%)
- Girls: 79.59% (last year 78.01%)
Girls continued to outshine boys, by recording a higher pass percentage. While 79.59% girls passed the exam, up from 78.01 last year, 68.46% boys passed, an increase from 66.56% of last year.

Area wise pass percentage
Urban : 70.05 (last year 69.38
Rural : 76.67 (last year 74)
Rural areas continued to perform better than urban. The pass percentage for rural areas was 76.67%, up from 74% last year, and the corresponding figure for urban areas was 70.05%, a slight increase from 69.38% recorded last year.

Students who hailed from English medium schools performed better than their counterparts from regional language medium schools. The pass percentage for students who appeared in the English medium was 80.88%, for Kannada 70.19%, Urdu 79.87%, Marathi 70.87%.

Students from private unaided schools performed better than their peers from government and aided schools. The pass percentage in unaided schools was 82.72%, while in aided schools it was 77.21% and 77.84% in government schools.
Among the districts, Hassan pipped Udupi to the top spot in terms of pass percentage. As many as 89.33% candidates from the district passed. Ramanagara district finished second with a pass percentage of 88.49, followed by Bengaluru Rural with 88.34. Yadgir district in the northern Hyderabad- Karnataka region was the worst performing of the 34 educational districts in the state, recording a pass percentage of 53.95%.
