The HRD ministry-run Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) have worked out a plan to nurture budding scientists who will be mentored by the country’s eminent scientists to take up the path of research and developing new technologies.

According to a senior official, the plan for mentoring 32 gifted students was approved at a meeting of the JNV board in Delhi on Wednesday.
“There will be a comprehensive three tier screening of students to find the students who show a proclivity for research. A mentoring centre will be set up in Hyderabad where these students will be nurtured by top scientists from institutions like the IITs and others,” a senior official said.
The plan has been developed in consultation with the office of the scientific advisor the prime minister, the official added.
