The 2018 NEET examination question paper was on expected lines and pattern prescribed by the CBSE, a top educational expert has opined.
Aakash Chaudhary, director of Aakash Institute, said the test had a mix of easy, average and difficult questions.
The biology part contained more questions from Class 11 than Class 12, with some requiring “analytical approach”, he said in a statement released to the media.
Chaudhary noted that a few questions in the Chemistry section were beyond the NCERT syllabus, such as “molecular orbital configuration of heteroatomic molecules, reverse hyperconjugation, etc”.
“All questions were concept-based and no memory-based question was present. One question from Organic chemistry had more than one correct option,” he pointed out.
In physical chemistry, numericals were on the easier side without lengthy calculations. In organic portion, multi-conceptual questions were asked keeping it little tricky, he said.
In the physics part, nearly 80% part of the paper was numerical, Chaudhary said, expressing surprise as some questions had long calculations.
Noting that some theoretical questions were difficult, he said most of the questions were from rotational motion current electricity, Ray and wave optics, on expected lines.
