De-regulation of education emphasised at PanIIT conclave
An urgency to reform the Indian education sector to ensure a sustainable economic growth of the nation was asserted at the Pan IIT conclave 2010. “The current education system has become obsolete and is full of irregularities, therefore we need rigorous expansion of the education system with better quality standards and funding models to take higher education to the next level,” said Dr Sam Pitroda, adviser to the Prime Minister of India, at the PanIIT 2010 Higher Education Roundtable scheduled at IIT Delhi recently.
The roundtable invited renowned educationalists and business leaders who shared their experiences and discussed the way forward for better higher education reforms.
