Prime Minister’s Rural Development Fellows Scheme

PMRDF is an opportunity for committed young people to contribute to enhancing development and welfare of the people in rural and tribal areas of the country.

The selected candidates will go through a three-month intensive training course including a four-week internship in the preferred district. The fellows will be appointed for a period of two years on a contract, extendable for one more year based on performance.

Eligibility:

The applicants should be in the age group of 21 to 30 years. They should be postgraduates in social science/science/management (preferable) or a graduates in law/ engineering/ medicine. Knowledge of Hindi and a local language used in an Integrated Action Plan (IAP) district is desirable. Applicants with work experience will be preferred

How to apply:

The aim is to create a resource pool of high quality development professionals ready to be deployed as PMRDFs in the IAP districts. The final number of PMRDFs to be posted in the IAP districts will be 180. The recruitment of PMRDFs will be done in two phases. In each phase, 90 candidates will be finally selected after the training programme.
