For these students of fashion, visiting the capital for the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week was nothing short of a pilgrimage. And instead of being mute spectators as the best designers of the country showcased their talent, they actually had a role to play, even if it was in the form of ushering the guests into the show areas. And going by what the event organisers had to say on Sunday, the students passed their test with flying colours. Participating in the event, albeit in a miniscule role were students of the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad, Pearl Academy of Fashion, New Delhi and National Institute of Fashion Technology.“The best part was that we got to see all the shows of all the designers,” says Prosenjit of NID, Ahmedabad. Accolades aside, the team also had to face serious reprimands at times.“I got a sound scolding from an organiser for picking a press release on the front row for one of the journalists sitting behind,” says a student of PAF. With the event now over, the students have to rush back to their courses.“We start a brand new course on finance this week,” says Shyam of NID, Ahmedabad. While none of the students are required to file any report on the Fashion Week as such, they all agree that it has been one great learning experience.
