Three paper solvers using high-tech gadgets held in Mathura

Police recovered 30 electronic vests, 25 button cells, eight ear pieces, Rs 30, 000 in cash, two mobile phones and a car.

Police arrested three paper solvers from a hotel in Mathura on Saturday night. These solvers used high-tech methods to ensure success of their customers appearing in exams. They provided electronically equipped vest with a chip, along with a sensitive minute ear piece.

They were in the Mathura to help students appearing in the SSC exam and were charging Rs three lakh from each of their customers. Those arrested were identified as Prashant Kumar from Tappal area in Aligarh, Sonu alias Ankit Kumar from Bulandshahr and Resham Pal from Aligarh.

“These three solvers were arrested from a hotel in Kotwali area of Mathura city last night. Their leader is Prashant Kumar, basically from Aligarh who had worked in coaching centres in Delhi,” informed Shailesh Pandey, superintendent of police (SP), Mathura.

“These paper solvers were equipped with the latest technology and were here to assist students appearing in SSC exams being conducted on Sunday but were arrested a night before. They had taken Rs. 20,000 from each of their customers. They were supposed to get Rs. 80,000 after the exam and remaining Rs. 2 lakh after success in the exam,” said Pandey.

Police recovered 30 electronic vests, 25 button cells, eight ear pieces, Rs 30, 000 in cash, two mobile phones and a car. Earlier, these paper solvers used to appear in the exams themselves as proxy candidates but this time they chose to use advanced technology to minimise risk and provide technologically motivated option for candidates, police said.
