Visiting Scholar Programme

The Visiting Scholar Programme (VScP) instituted by the Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR) as one of its outreach activities with the objective of supporting research being conducted by PhD Scholars and junior faculty members at colleges and universities in India and abroad.

The Visiting Scholar Programme (VScP) instituted by the Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR) as one of its outreach activities with the objective of supporting research being conducted by PhD Scholars and junior faculty members at colleges and universities in India and abroad. Five selected scholars will get to spend three months at a stretch at IGIDR anytime during April 1, 2011 to March 31, 2012 to work on a proposal that can be satisfactorily completed during their stay. Selected scholars will be paid a stipend of R9000 per month

Eligibility:

Students must have a Masters degree in any field and be registered for PhD in the area of economics, including energy and environmental policy. They must enclose their curriculum vitae, a research proposal and two letters of recommendation. Candidates should clearly mention in the application the preferred three-month period of stay at IGIDR.
