Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam's candidate Baskara Sethupathy.A grabbed 7,079 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties secured 53.3%, 36.8% and 3.5% respectively.
In Tamil Nadu Assembly election 2011, All India Forward Bloc's Kathiravan P V outperformed Dravida Munetra Kazhagam's Ramasamy S O by 15,320 votes.
