Uttarakhand Election: Kashipur Assembly Constituency 2022

Kashipur comes under the Udham Singh Nagar district and it is one of the 70 Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly Constituencies . People of Kashipur voted for Uttarakhand Assembly Election 2022 on February 14 and the result was declared on March 10.

Kashipur assembly constituency had 1,51,070 electors in 2017, out of which 79,540 were male voters and 71,530 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.4% votes.

What happened last time

In the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly Election 2017, Kashipur constituency had 11 candidates for assembly seat contention. Kashipur was one of 57 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Harbhajan Singh Cheema won the election by upstaging Indian National Congress's Manoj Joshi by a margin of 20,114 votes.

91.7% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Harbhajan Singh Cheema grabbed a total of 50,156 votes, while Indian National Congress's Manoj Joshi got 30,042 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Mohd Ashraf Siddiqui bagged 15,426 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 48.1%, 28.8% and 14.8% respectively.

In Uttarakhand Assembly election 2012, Bharatiya Janata Party's Harbhajan Singh Cheema outperformed Indian National Congress's Manoj Joshi by 2,382 votes.
