West Bengal Election: Budge Budge Assembly Constituency 2022

Budge Budge is the assembly constituency which comes under the South Twenty Four Parganas district. It is one of the 294 West Bengal Legislative Assembly Constituencies . West Bengal Assembly Election 2021 for Budge Budge will be held on April 10 and the result was declared on May 2.

In West Bengal Assembly Election 2016, there were 2,27,804 registered voters for Budge Budge assembly seat, out of which 1,17,999 were male and 1,09,803 were female voters. 1.3% of voters opted for for the None of the Above (NOTA) option.

What happened last time

In the West Bengal Legislative Assembly Election 2016, Budge Budge constituency had 8 candidates for assembly seat contention. Budge Budge was one of 211 seats won by the Indian National Congress. It was a close contest with All India Trinamool Congress's Ashok Kumar Deb winning the election upstaging Indian National Congress's Sk. Mujibar Rahaman by a margin of just 7,159 votes.

96.9% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. All India Trinamool Congress's Ashok Kumar Deb grabbed a total of 84,058 votes, while Indian National Congress's Sk. Mujibar Rahaman got 76,899 votes. Bharatiya Janta Party's candidate Uma Shankar Ghosh Dastidar bagged 20,778 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 44.8%, 41.0% and 11.1% respectively.

In West Bengal Assembly election 2011, All India Trinamool Congress's Ashok Kumar Deb beat Communist Party Of India (MARXIST)'s Hrishikesh Podder by 46,489 votes.
