West Bengal Election: Domjur Assembly Constituency 2022

Domjur is one of the 294 West Bengal Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Haora district. West Bengal Assembly Election 2021 for Domjur will be held on April 10 and the result was declared on May 2.

In 2016, the Domjur assembly seat had 2,57,169 registered voters. Of the, 1,33,089 were male and 1,24,077 were female voters. 1.1% of votes were casted for NOTA.

What happened last time

In the West Bengal Legislative Assembly Election 2016, Domjur constituency had 8 candidates for assembly seat contention. Total 211 seats were won by the Independent, Domjur was one of them. The election for Domjur seat was comfortably won by All India Trinamool Congress's Rajib Banerjee defeating independent candidate Protima Dutta W/o - Late Tapan Kumar Dutta by a huge margin of 1,07,701 votes.

87.5% of the total votes were casted to top two candidates. All India Trinamool Congress's Rajib Banerjee got a total of 1,48,768 votes, while independent candidate Protima Dutta W/o - Late Tapan Kumar Dutta got 41,067 votes. Bharatiya Janta Party's candidate Jayanta Das grabbed 15,489 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties secured 68.6%, 18.9% and 7.1% respectively.

In West Bengal Assembly election 2011, All India Trinamool Congress's Rajib Banerjee beat Communist Party Of India (MARXIST)'s Mohanta Chatterjee by 24,986 votes.
