West Bengal Election: Dum Dum Uttar Assembly Constituency 2022

Dum Dum Uttar comes under the North Twenty Four Parganas district and it is one of the 294 West Bengal Legislative Assembly Constituencies . People of Dum Dum Uttar voted for West Bengal Assembly Election 2021 on April 22 and the result was declared on May 2.

In 2016, the Dum Dum Uttar assembly seat had 2,37,640 registered voters. Of the, 1,19,266 were male and 1,18,372 were female voters. 1.5% of votes were casted for NOTA.

What happened last time

In the West Bengal Legislative Assembly Election 2016, Dum Dum Uttar constituency had 4 candidates for assembly seat contention. Dum Dum Uttar was one of 26 seats won by the All India Trinamool Congress. It was a close contest with Communist Party Of India (Marxist)'s Tanmoy Bhattacharya winning the election upstaging All India Trinamool Congress's Chandrima Bhattacharya by a margin of just 6,549 votes.

91.1% of the total votes were casted to top two candidates. Communist Party Of India (Marxist)'s Tanmoy Bhattacharya got a total of 91,959 votes, while All India Trinamool Congress's Chandrima Bhattacharya got 85,410 votes. Bharatiya Janta Party's candidate Dr. Tapan Chandra Das grabbed 15,420 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties secured 47.2%, 43.9% and 7.9% respectively.

In West Bengal Assembly election 2011, All India Trinamool Congress's Chandrima Bhattacharya defeated Communist Party Of India (MARXIST)'s Rekha Goswami by 19,026 votes.
