Kamarhati is the assembly constituency which comes under the North Twenty Four Parganas district. It is one of the 294 West Bengal Legislative Assembly Constituencies . West Bengal Assembly Election 2021 for Kamarhati will be held on April 17 and the result was declared on May 2.
In 2016, the Kamarhati assembly seat had 1,82,972 registered voters. Of the, 93,920 were male and 89,051 were female voters. 1.4% of votes were casted for NOTA.
In the West Bengal Legislative Assembly Election 2016, Kamarhati constituency had 11 candidates for assembly seat contention. Kamarhati was one of 26 seats won by the All India Trinamool Congress. It was a close contest with Communist Party Of India (Marxist)'s Manash Mukherjee winning the election upstaging All India Trinamool Congress's Madan Mitra by a margin of just 4,198 votes.
The top two candidates split 88.8% of votes between them. Communist Party Of India (Marxist)'s Manash Mukherjee got a total of 62,194 votes, while All India Trinamool Congress's Madan Mitra secured 57,996 votes. Bharatiya Janta Party's candidate Krishanu Mitra secured 10,797 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 46.0%, 42.9% and 8.0% respectively.
In West Bengal Assembly election 2011, All India Trinamool Congress's Madan Mitra outperformed Communist Party Of India (MARXIST)'s Manash Mukherjee by 24,354 votes.
