American singer Courtney Love is said to be “infatuated” with Salman Rushdie after striking a blossoming friendship with him.

The 47-year-old American singer was pictured with the 64-year-old Indian-British novelist at a New York literary event, and were later seen “flirting heavily”.

“She finds him intellectually thrilling. She regularly quotes classic literature and is a huge fan of Salman’s work,” the Mirror quoted a source close to the singer as saying.

“She is infatuated with Salman. He truly is her ideal chap.

“She is looking for love, while Salman’s an incorrigible flirt and willing to see how their friendship develops,” the source added.
