On Father’s Day today, we ask Deepika Padukone, Vidya Balan, and other Bollywood divas what they’ve learned from their dads and how their fathers mean the world to them.

Deepika Padukone
Father: Prakash Padukone
My dad is really humble and down-to-earth. Though my sister and I had the most normal childhood at home, outside we were looked at very differently. He taught us sportsmanship and how to deal with both success and failure. So, the success of Om Shanti Om did not affect me, neither did the failure of Chandni Chowk to China.

Vidya Balan
Father: PR Balan
My father has been a great inspiration for me in celebrating my feminity. He’s my driving force. He said that I could always become an actor, but I couldn’t go back to college later in life. So I had to finish my education first and then do what I wanted. I wasn’t pleased with it back then, but now, I can’t thank him enough for it.Bipasha Basuhttp://www.hindustantimes.com/Images/popup/2013/3/Kareena-Kapoor.jpg

Father:
Hirak Basu

My father shows faith in all my choices. I wish every woman gets a man like my dad. He keeps clicking my mother’s pics and has it as his screensaver, which is just so cute. I hope to marry such a man, who is this crazy about me.

Sonakshi Sinha
Father:
Shatrughan Sinha
For my father, everything I do is good. He is a great role model. He believes in helping people and tries to maintain good relations with everyone. I’ve inherited my dad’s outgoing nature. He has always supported me but he has never approached anybody to ask for work for me — whatever happened, happened on its own.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan
Father:
Krishnaraj Rai
My father is the strongest man I know. His faith in the power of healing is so strong. He has been a source of inspiration for me. I feel his strength. He has greatly influenced my life.
