Later, her love life with beau Kushal Tandon kept her constantly under the scanner. But it was actually the shocking incident of a fan slapping the model-turned-actor that created a furore. In this interview, Gauahar looks back on the highs and lows of the year.

This year was eventful for you to say the least. What was the most significant aspect for you?

I garnered tremendous love and appreciation this year. It’s been one of the best years of my life, and I can’t thank God enough. The turning point was definitely winning Bigg Boss 7. The way I saw myself helped me believe that whatever I was doing in life was right.

Your personal life, too, kept you in the news.

Have you put the slap incident behind you?

I don’t think I have a choice but to be strong and move on. I never imagined something like this would happen.

What does 2015 look like?

I have a release coming up early next year, and I hope I continue to do more films in 2015.
