Park Hae Soo announced the pregnancy on stage

The Squid Game star first shared the news of his wife's pregnancy in a touching moment at the 5th Blue Dragon Series Awards on July 31. As he accepted his first Best Actor trophy for the thriller crime series The Scarecrow, the actor surprised everyone by turning his acceptance speech into a personal celebration of his growing family. “Our son's name is Chukbok-i, and he always brings blessings to me,” he said.

After the ceremony, he spoke to Sports Chosun about why he chose that particular moment to make the announcement. He explained, “This is a joyful and blessed event, so I wanted to share the news of my second pregnancy with many people. In the early stages of pregnancy, I was worried and couldn't contact everyone. That's why I wanted to mention Chukbok if I had the chance to give an acceptance speech.”

About his last series The Scarecrow

If you’ve seen Bong Joon Ho’s Memories of Murder starring Song Kang Ho, chances are its haunting final shot still stays with you. Inspired by South Korea’s infamous Hwaseong serial murders, the film ended without identifying the killer as the real case remained unsolved at the time. The K-drama, which aired earlier this year, The Scarecrow revisits the same tragedy, but looks at what happens after the truth finally begins to emerge.

Set between 1988 and 2019, the non-linear drama follows Kang Tae Joo (Park Hae Soo), a former homicide detective turned criminal profiler, who is drawn back into the case after new evidence and a prisoner's confession surface. He teams up with prosecutor and former school rival Cha Si Young (Lee Hee Joon), while journalist Seo Ji Won (Kwak Sun Young) helps uncover a web of corruption, wrongful convictions and buried secrets.

Park Hae Soo has several projects lined up
