Prakash Jha receives extortion calls

Director Prakash Jha has filed a case against two New York based producers, Devendra Singh and Pravin, for extortion threats that he allegedly received from the duo.

Director Prakash Jha has filed a case against two New York based producers, Devendra Singh and Pravin, for extortion threats that he allegedly received from the duo.

The filmmaker was to do a film with the duo, but later pulled out for unknown reasons. A source close to Jha reveals that the threat calls and emails he received demanded hefty extortion money.

A source from the police station reveals that the duo demanded Rs 3 crore from the director. “Yes, Mr Jha has filed a case with us,” confirmed an officer from Amboli police station, on condition of anonymity.

However, he refrained from divulging any further details case. Despite repeated attempts, Jha remained unavailable for comment.
