If there’s any wedding that’s being talked about, it has to be Bollywood superstar Salman Khan’s li’l sister Arpita’s.
From making the Khans — Shah Rukh, Aamir et al join the guest list to the President and the Prime Minister of the country being invited — it’s certainly one of the biggest in the celeb circle.
The wedding is slated to take place on Tuesday in Hyderabad. And guess who we caught up with? Dulhe raja Aayush Sharma!
Tell us about your love story.
We met three years ago in Mumbai through common friends, and then lost touch for a bit. We rekindled our friendship about a year ago, and it grew into love! I was bowled over by her craziness.
Who among Arpita’s siblings — Salman, Arbaaz, Sohail, Alvira — are you most friendly with?
I have my individual equation with each of them. As they are much older, I maintain a relationship of respect and love with all of them.
What’s the best compliment that Salman has given you?
I’m not too sure about the compliment but Bhai (Salman) definitely keeps asking me, ‘Are you sure you want to marry my sister?’ (Laughs).
We heard that Salman is planning to launch you in Bollywood soon.
It’s a misconception that he is launching me. I would definitely like to pursue a career in Bollywood but on my own terms. Also, age is on my side and God willing, I’d like to explore all opportunities given to me. For now, I’m training to become an actor.
We’ve heard that Arpita is Salman’s most pampered sister. Are you under any kind of pressure to live up to expectations?
I’m not under any pressure but I would love to live up to everyone’s expectations and even surpass them.
How is Salim ji as dad-in-law?
Well, it’s great to have another dad. In fact, I also have a great equation with my mother-in-law (Salma Khan) ... She is a friend to both of us, and I have a lot of love and respect for Helen aunty.
Where are you going for your honeymoon?
Australia, New Zealand and Bora Bora.
