It was not just the outfits on the runway that were the highlight of the recently concluded Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week. From chunky jewellery to quirky bags, accessory stalls at the WLIFW ‘11 were an instant hit.

It was not just the outfits on the runway that were the highlight of the recently concluded Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week. The accessories displayed at the stalls attracted enough attention too. From chunky jewellery, leather travel bags, bejewelled clutches to eco-friendly jute bags, there was everything you would want to complete your look with. “Buyers from Middle East and Ukraine placed good amount of orders. They really liked my leather bags inspired by vintage cars,” says accessory designer Shalini Ahuja, who had a stall at the venue.

Leather bags on display at Shahrukh Zaidi’s stall also got a very good response. “The business was good at the Fashion week. Bags with interchangeable handles did really well; also the traveller bags, laptop bags and sling bags were popular. The leather bag range starts from Rs 4,000. Colours such as purple, yellow, red and blue are going to stay for long in bags,” says Zaidi.

Film maker Farah Khan came to get her hands on accessory designer Rashmi Dogra’s hand painted bags. Then for the ones who only endorse eco-friendly bags, there were nice bags from The Jute Shop.

Funky jewellery in semi-precious stones by Pinky Saraf was another stall to watch out for. “Clutches adorned with stones in colours such as black, ivory and silver were most preferred by the women. Neck pieces with funky Italian chains studded with semi-precious stones were also picked up by the visitors,” says accessory designer Pinky Saraf.
