We’re trying to make Delhi more stylish, and the style stars are with us in our initiative. Tired of seeing fashion eyesores about town, we kicked off our special series, Style in The City, last week.
We sat down with the county’s leading designers, stylists, fashion bloggers and experts who unanimously believed that Delhi needs a serious style check, and pointed out the most dreaded fashion faux pas that Delhiites commit. “I can see flashy, loud, designer labels everywhere in the city,” says actor Ameesha Patel in support of our campaign to change that streak.
Designer Gauri Karan believes Delhi women over-style their hair. “Overdone highlights and perfectly blow-dried hair with fake curls look so tacky,” she says.
Based on such responses from experts, we created eleven different characters, and styled our HT City staffers to pose as fashion offenders. Everyday, you see one character featured on our pages to tell people how to steer clear of fashion bloopers. Entrepreneur Naveen Ansal says, “Style in the City rocks. Delhi is a city full of fashion faux pas, and the campaign is helping people learn a lot.”
“HT City has given a fun twist to the whole thing by dressing up its own people as fashion offenders. Gabru Jawan is my favourite,” he adds. Socialite Tanisha Mohan says, “It’s great that HT City has taken the initiative to turn Delhi stylish.” Our readers too, have joined us in hundreds and we thank each one of them... join in, be stylish!
