Asupporter of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) holds a sign during a rally, her body painted as a tiger, across the street from Lincoln Center on September 14 in New York. The PETA supporters, with bodies painted like tigers, leopards and zebras, were attempting to send a message to the attendees at the just concluded Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week that animals suffer for the fur, leather, and exotic-skins industries.
