HT City visited the Arts Faculty to check out the latest rainy day trends on campus. “Thick-soled sandals, floaters and sneakers are a must in every student’s wardrobe,” says Nupur Singh, a second year student. Washable plastic chappals in different styles and colours are the latest fad.

In showrooms in Kamla Nagar Market, branded chappals (ranging from299 to 549) and Crocs (ranging from 995 to3,000) are in vogue, along with stylish sneakers.

Like many others, Chavvi Malhotra, a second year student, is all for flip-flops, sneakers and flat-footed sandals, though Suresh Jain, another second year student, prefers shoes.

Besides plastic footwear, plastic bags too have become visible under the overcast skies. Students say that they come in handy while carrying valuables such as laptops, iPods and mobile phones. “Plastic bags are selling like hot cakes,” says a shopkeeper in Kamla Nagar.

Gunjan Rana, a second year student, points out that girls should avoid wearing transparent or white t-shirts to stop people from ogling at them.
