Fashion fatigue

During the recently concluded Aamby Valley India Bridal Week, Vikram Phadnis unleashed a riot of ensembles with nine different looks and Ashima Leena presented a collection of Indian wear full of stylish embroidery and silhouettes.

During the recently concluded Aamby Valley India Bridal Week (AVIBW), Vikram Phadnis unleashed a riot of ensembles with nine different looks. Hair and make-up expert Ambika Pillai, who came all the way from Delhi, put these looks together on the models. The effort that the designer put in to make the collection was quite evident in his creations. Embroidery was done tastefully, and the outfits made by him looked elegant.

Same was the case with Ashima Leena, who presented a collection of Indian wear full of stylish embroidery and silhouettes. The collections by both these designers had a good presence on the ramp and had good aesthetic appeal.

At the earlier shows, Abhishek Dutta showed his collection that had a Bengali appeal, with most outfits having plain surfaces, and some with a bit of treatment. Riyaz Gangji, on the other hand, came up with a collection full of detailing done intricately. Both these designers had some designs devoted to men as well.

Talking about the audience, it seems that they had been somewhat fatigued with an overdose of fashion. One men’s week, two couture weeks and now, a bridal week. Several empty seats aside, those who came even forgot to applaud at the end of each show.
