To see the costumes from a yet-to-be-released film on the runway as they unfold scene-by-scene in the movie is a unique promotional activity.
Designer Manish Malhotra showcased the designs from the Priyanka Chopra-Ranbir Kapoor starrer Anjaana Anjaani to be released on October 1, in a fashion show dedicated to the movie in Mumbai this Tuesday.
Malhotra had used the similar platform for Om Shanti Om too in 2007. At the show Priyanka walked the runway in a denim jacket over a ghaghra.
Malhotra says, “In the last sequence of the film, she is trying on the ghaghra when a friend comes and tells her something so she picks up the jacket and runs. Hence we used the jacket over the lehenga.”
Though a pro at fashion shows now, Priyanka tweeted that she was nervous. Making up for Ranbir’s absence were four male models who showcased the star’s outfits from the movie.
