We didn’t think punk would be making a comeback anytime soon, but as one A-lister after another strutted their stuff at the recent Met Gala, it’s back on the radar. Celebrities at the event may have had a little help from US Vogue editor Anna Wintour, who approved all their outfits. Here’s what you need to know about wearing the theme, in terms of make-up and dressing.

A flawless base is essential so try Elizabeth Arden’s Flawless Finish Bare Perfection range or L'Oréal’s True Match Mineral bases.

For illumination on cheeks, Revlon’s Skinlights on the cheekbones will give you that beautiful sheen for a red carpet feel. For extra oomph, try Benefit’s Highbeam.

For eyes, you need a fantastic eye shadow quad. Chanel has the Les 4 Ombres range that’s great for Indian skin; 38 Premier Regard is the one to get. Great colours and essential black are the shades you’ll need to achieve this punk look.

For lashes, try Maybelline’s Illegal Length mascara or Shiseido’s Perfect Mascara Defining Volume. Lashes should be curled first, and then at least two layers of mascara used.
n To groom and define eyebrows, use M.A.C’s brow pencils lightly. Don’t be too heavy-handed.
