Rampage against trafficking

Ever since the case of battered baby Falak brought the limelight on human trafficking, fashion, too, seems to have woken up to the issue. The Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) along with an NGO and 12 leading designers, has decided to put together a special show to raise awareness against the social evil.

The Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) along with an NGO and 12 leading designers, has decided to put together a special show to raise awareness against the social evil. The upcoming Wills Lifestyle India fashion Week (Feb 15-19) will have a special show to raise awareness about the plight of the victims of human trafficking and several Bollywood stars will show their support too.

The ramp event, due on February 15, will see leading designers such as Manish Arora, Suneet Varma, JJ Valaya, Tarun Tahiliani, Ritu Beri, Ashish Soni, Shantanu-Nikhil, Ashima-Leena, Rohit Gandhi-Rahul Khanna, Hemant Sagar-Didier Lecoanet, Ravi Bajaj and Rajesh Pratap Singh, each showcasing one outfit designed by them.

Actors Vivek Oberoi and Karisma Kapoor, and tennis player Leander Paes are likely to attend the show. Ace photographer Subi Samuel will also unveil 12 special photos on the theme.

‘Bad man’ at Fashion Week
The bad man of Bollywood, Gulshan Grover, along with actor Mahima Chaudhary will also be seen supporting a PETA initiative for animal welfare, at the fashion week.
