Fashion is a funny thing. Trends come and go, and they are often at loggerheads with each other. While clashing, mismatched prints have been a hit both on and off the runway, all-similar, matching prints are what we are lusting after now. Co-ords or co-ordinated separates in classic patterns or prints are not only celeb favourites, but also a fantastic way to spruce up your safe seperates game.

The power of prints If you thought you can only pull-off prints in the casual realm, think again. Experts believe that prints have an innate, red-carpet perfect power, and co-ords are one way to bend the rules. "Prints in the international arena have always had the power to add an edge. The Indian market on the other hand is still pre-mature and considers prints to be very casual and not dressy, because our culture is used to seeing prints all around, on a daily basis. Maybe in the times to come the sensibility of our consumer will change and prints will be considered more formal," says designer Manav Gangwani.

Designer Nikhil Mehra also speaks about this print power play, he says, "Now, the print is bigger than the silhouette and twin sets or coordinates are clearly making a statement. If you notice, as artists and public figures, people are far more expressive in their clothes rather than their language. The prints here speak for themselves."
