The second day of the Aamby Valley India Bridal Week shone in your face Indians’ predilection for all things bright and blingy. While ethnic wedding wear requires a fair dusting of Swarovski crystals to justify the price tag (usually six digits or more), there is still such a thing as good taste.

Nisha Sagar made an attempt to present a bridal wear collection, but with jarring, glittery surfaces like those, brides will be the cynosure of all eyes for all the wrong reasons. Anjalee and Arjun Kapoor didn’t fare much better. Fluffy tulle confections overloaded with enough crystals to light up a dark room, forget about being able to walk around, let alone dance at your own wedding. Even professional models looked terrified as they trudged up and down the staircase, bandaged in yards of gauze and tottering atop sky-high heels.



Showstopper Kangna Ranaut preened and pouted her way down the never-ending runway, wearing a crystallised headdress paired with feathers.
