Wow over unibrow

Models and fashionistas say the joint-eyebrow look is the next big thing.

Is the unibrow really in? At the recently concluded Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week, several models were spotted sporting joint eyebrows. It’s not just on the ramp. Madonna’s teenage daughter, Lourdes also advocates the look. We took a look at the trend and found that stylists believe the unibrow look will catch on soon.

At WLIFW, designer Anand Kabra’s show saw models sporting unibrows, as did the grand finale by Tarun Tahiliani. “The unibrow look is very high-fashion, and gives a very organic, raw and sensuous feel. It was earthy,” explains Kabra. “The look is very sexy and sultry. Normally, people like their eyebrows thin and clean, but with the Fashion Week opening and closing with shows that had models sporting the unibrow, it will come to the streets as well,” says make-up expert Ambika Pillai, who designed the look for Kabra. After the show, she says, the eyebrows became a hot topic of talk.

Model Sonalika Sahay, who sported the look on the ramp, says, “I just loved that brow style. It looks natural and makes you appear younger. I don’t have a unibrow, but maybe I will do it manually, using a kajal pencil. But, those who do have their brows joint naturally, must follow the look. It’s far better than the thin, artificial and made-up brows.”
