The ministry of road transport and highways has cancelled the three tenders issued for the construction of these underpasses at Rajiv Chowk, Signature Tower, and Iffco Chowk. The underpasses will facilitate east to west movement of traffic in Gurgaon.

According to sources in the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), the tenders will be re-worked and floated again. Most likely, only one tender will be issued for the three underpasses.

The decision to float a new tender for these underpasses is likely to delay the project by at least four months, the sources said.

As per the earlier plan, after the assessment of the bids, the work was to be awarded on May 22.

The project has already been delayed due to issues related to land acquisition, approval from multiple agencies and slow relocation of utilities on the expressway. The selected contractor will have to maintain the underpasses for four years after the construction.
