A 27-year-old man suffered bullet injuries after he was attacked by two people in broad daylight at the busy Sector 31 market, near Uniworld City apartments, of Gurgaon on Thursday.

The victim, Bhim, an autorickshaw driver, is undergoing treatment at a private hospital and is stable, police said.
Eyewitnesses said that at 8.45 am when Bhim and his friends were smoking near the South Indian Bank branch, two men came walking by. The assailants fired five shots at Bhim, who sustained injuries on his shoulders, back and hand, they said.
While the attackers fled from the spot, Bhim was rushed to a private hospital nearby.
“I was sitting inside the autorickshaw with Bhim when one of our friends invited Bhim for a cigarette. Suddenly, two unknown men came towards us and opened fire,” said Varun, eyewitness and the victim’s friend.
The police said Bhim was stable in the hospital but unfit for giving a statement.
“We will be able to investigate further only when the victim gives a statement,” said ASI Mangal, investigating officer.
