The city police arrested four men on Saturday for a Rs 1.12-lakh robbery reported on Thursday.

The accused, Ritwik Sharma (19), Aditya Kapoor (20), Sumiran Dikshit (20) and Karanveer Singh (22), have been sent to 14 days’ judicial custody.
According to the police, the victim, Rahul, had received a call from Karanveer seeking exchange for US $2,000. The accused had called the victim in the afternoon to a park in Suncity where they beat him up and fled with the cash.
While Sharma is a resident of South City and a Class 12 student, Kapoor and Dikshit are first year students at IILM.
According to the police, Karanveer studied in the US and was supposed to return in October.
He was the mastermind behind the robbery.
“We nabbed the youth after tracking their mobile numbers and recovered a bronze-silver Hyundai i20 car (HR 26 BW 4029) outside Genpact Chowk on Saturday evening. The victim works at a local money exchange agency in Uttam Nagar,” said Pradeep Dangi, SHO, Sector 56.
The police also recovered R1.12 lakh from the accused.

{{/usCountry}}Similar cases were reported in February this year and December last year too. Money exchange firm owners were robbed of R11 lakh and R1.4 lakh respectively.
