CM orders committee to probe Ambience row in Gurgaon

Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar ordered to set up of a three-member committee to probe maintenance-related issues at Ambience Lagoon apartments near Ambience Mall on Sunday. There was a demand from residents to hand over maintenance to the residents’ welfare association (RWA) but two parallel associations presented their claims.

After listening to both the parties, Khattar ordered a committee comprising divisional commissioner D Suresh, chief governance coordinator SN Vashisth, and commissioner of police Sandeep Khirwar. The committee has to submit its report in the next meeting, a government spokesperson said.

The CM was heading the monthly meeting of District Grievances Committee during his two-day visit to Gurgaon. He said the builders in Gurgaon were trying to complete pending projects and deliver them as soon as possible. He said there has been progress in several projects after the issues were brought to him earlier.

A total of 23 complaints were taken up at the meeting held at mini-secretariat, the spokesperson said.

Listening to complaints against Emaar MGF Palm Hills in Sector 77, Emaar Palm Gardens in Sector 83 and Emerald Hills Township projects in Sector 65, Khattar was informed that Dubai-based Emaar had taken over all shares of MGF and work on all projects has started. A company representative said more than 7,000 construction workers are deployed at project sites to complete projects at the earliest and hand them over to buyers.

Listening to complaints against Vistas project of Unitech Ltd in Sector 70, Khattar said the matter was being resolved through meeting among allottees and builder. The officials of Town and Country planning informed that Unitech has 244 subsidiary companies and in Gurgaon alone, the developer has licences for construction of residential projects in 1,100 acres.

The department was studying liabilities and assets of Unitech and it would take about a month more, officials said. The company has submitted revival plan of four projects and the department is studying the plan, officials said. Buyers of Unitech residential projects have accused the management of fraud by collecting money and not delivering the houses.
