Discom scheme to check power consumption

The Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) has launched a voluntary disclosure scheme (VDS) for all domestic, non-domestic, agriculture and industrial consumers. The scheme will be available from August 1 to September 30.

The Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) has launched a voluntary disclosure scheme (VDS) for all domestic, non-domestic, agriculture and industrial consumers. The scheme will be available from August 1 to September 30.

“This initiative is meant to assess the actual load being consumed and improve the system. We hope consumers will cooperate,” said Amit Agrawal, managing director, DHBVN, adding that those who declare their power consumption will get benefit and those exceeding the sanctioned load and does not disclose will be heavily penalised. Consumers drawing 20 KW are not required to submit any VDS and beyond that one has to submit a self-declaration report and apply for load extension.

DHBVN has been conducting VDS scheme regularly to improve the system for the past few years.
