DLF Phase I residents to get jogging track

In yet another resident-friendly initiative, the DLF City Resident Welfare Association began construction on a nearly 1.5-kilometre jogging track at a green belt adjacent to block G and H in Phase I. Divya Sethi reports.

In yet another resident-friendly initiative, the DLF City Resident Welfare Association began construction on a nearly 1.5-kilometre jogging track at a green belt adjacent to block G and H in Phase I.

The track will be ready for use in another ten days.

The move comes after the RWA introduced an exclusive bus service for office-goers in the area and a wastewater recycling system.

About 700 families reside in G and H blocks and another 700 live in Silver Oaks.

Sudhir Kapoor, secretary general, DLF City RWA, said, "Though we have small parks here, there were no tracks for morning walkers and joggers. This green belt area was lying unutilized, so we planned to clean it up and put it to use."

Chaitanya Verma, a resident of H block, said, "Though property rates are very high here but there are a handful of options when it comes to facilities. Such initiatives are certainly required as one often looks for open green spaces to relax and walk in the morning."
