The education department has already received a detailed report about the incident, actions taken and security measures adopted by the school. However, only after the video footage is checked, will the DEO take a decision.

“We have received a detailed report from the school. But another crucial evidence- video footage- is yet to be received by the office. We will inspect the video and then take action accordingly,” said Neelam Bhandari, District Education Officer, Gurgaon.

Even the regional transport authority (RTA) is inspecting the matter, especially the school buses, and checking if they comply with the directions given under the Surakshit School Vahan Policy.

Under this policy, school buses should install two CCTV cameras -- one each in the front and rear of the school buses -- with digital video recorded (DVR), monitor and cables to ensure safer transport facility for students.

A source in the district administration said, “Inspections of the school buses and other processes are underway. As of now, the CCTV cameras were found fitted in each vehicle and it can be said that the school is complying but we must wait for the final report to come out.”

Even the secretary of the RTA, Jitinder Kumar, said the notices have been served to the school and investigations are under process.
